On Oct. 18, the Carolina Hurricanes (2-1-0) improved their record with a road victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins (3-3-0). While the Hurricanes haven’t been very active on the ice, now tied for the fewest games played in the NHL, they sure aren’t playing like it—they decisively beat the Penguins 4-1. With preseason less than a month away, the Pittsburgh Penguins are busy putting the finishing touches on their offseason. On Aug. 22, the Penguins made a trade with the Winnipeg Jets involving some top prospects. Pittsburgh sent forward Brayden Yager to Winnipeg in exchange for Rutger McGroarty. McGroarty was drafted 14th overall by the Jets
